Low Cost Airline Guide

Air France was the French flag carrier until 2004, when it merged with the Dutch airline KLM and the new company Air France-KLM was born. Air France-KLM is the largest airline group in the world in terms of income and the third in terms of passenger-kilometres. It is part of the SkyTeam alliance. Despite the merger the two airlines keep on operating with their original names. Air France flies all across the world from its main hub of Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and has code-sharing agreements with a large number of world-wide airlines. It was established in 1933 through the merger of some French airlines. In 1946 Air France was nationalized but now, after the creation of Air France-KLM, the company has become private again and the French government only owns a minority share.
